The Foundation for a Smoke-Free World is committed to filling key knowledge gaps in our collective understanding of tobacco production and use, especially in the low- and middle-income countries where it is increasingly grown and consumed. The heavy burden of tobacco-related health conditions in Bangladesh is rooted in the country’s high production and consumption of tobacco products. Therefore, it’s one of the five focus countries of the Bloomberg Initiative (BI) to reduce tobacco use.
