Director, Development

Robert Hinnen oversees new fundraising opportunities and initiatives at the Foundation.  As Director, Development, he is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive multi-year plan guided by a philanthropic roadmap that supports the long-term sustainability of the Foundation. In this role, Robert identifies potential partners and develops engagement strategies to cultivate and leverage stakeholder relationships that will increase the Foundation’s impact.

Robert is an experienced senior philanthropy team leader who has raised millions of dollars through major gifts, special events, new business development, and individual giving. Robert consistently achieved these types of fundraising goals by identifying and qualifying individuals and corporate entities across public and private affiliations, while also leveraging partnerships and building stronger trusted relationships.

Specializing in prospect research and cultivation, Robert excels by blending a strategic approach with his compassion for people, a genuine desire to help, and a strong mission focus.

Robert’s background includes significant development leadership roles with Lupus Research Alliance, Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Center of New Jersey at Hackensack University Medical Center, and as a senior executive and advisor on national consulting teams helping organizations navigate the unprecedented challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Robert has a Bachelor of Social Work degree from University of Kansas and a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University.
