Chief Health Science Technology Officer

As Chief Health Science Technology Officer, C.B. identifies research initiatives that promise to advance tobacco cessation and harm reduction science. These include biomedical studies at the intersection of tobacco and health, as well as innovation in harm reduction technology. Overseeing the Health, Science, and Technology team, C.B. works to characterize critical research gaps and allocate Foundation support to fill these gaps. Through this work, she strives to strengthen global research capacity and catalyze creative solutions to the smoking epidemic.

Trained as an immunologist, C.B. brings with her decades of experience in the biomedical sciences. Prior to joining the Foundation, she led medical innovation teams at Pfizer and GSK Consumer Health. During her time at Pfizer, she assumed a variety of positions, including Director of Medical Affairs Oncology and Clinical Lead Emerging Markets Oncology. Preceding this tenure, C.B. held multiple roles at Roche Molecular Systems and worked as a Research Scientist for Abbott Laboratories.

C.B. holds an MA and a PhD in Immunology from Cornell University Graduate School of Medical Sciences; and she was a postdoctoral fellow at the German Cancer Research Institute in Heidelberg (DKFZ). In her free time, C.B. enjoys running, squash, and kayaking.
