Preliminary Health, Science, & Technology Agenda
The Foundation for a Smoke-Free World publicly shared its Health, Science, and Technology (HST) preliminary agenda, which covers proposed areas of work across Research, Innovation, and Data & Analytics. We had developed this early perspective based on reviews of key recent publications, literature reviews and scoping work, expert interviews, and the findings from our own State of Smoking survey. We shared this preliminary agenda to seek input and advice from all those interested in helping accelerate the end of smoking.
Input was requested on the following issues:
- Which elements of the agenda (across Research, Innovation, and Data & Analytics) should the Foundation focus on first?
- Who (researchers, innovators, data scientists) is doing the most innovative and promising work in these areas—with a focus on low- and middle-income countries?
- What elements should we consider adding (because we’ve missed them so far) or removing (because others are already addressing them adequately)?
We will attentively study the input and feedback received and expect that it will spur a further round of literature reviews, interviews, and scoping work.
We look forward to sharing a more definitive version of the HST agenda in March 2019.
