Assistant Grants Coordinator

About the Position

The Assistant Grants Coordinator will support the Grants Management team, and report to the Grants Manager responsible for grants data management and maintenance.  The role will focus on data maintenance duties, with the goal of ensuring that the Foundation’s grants management systems are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and work closely with Grants Management team on the completion of all documents, forms, and reports that are required to maintain the systems.
  • Perform regular and proper data maintenance of the Blackbaud grantmaking database, including managing data integrity.
  • Assist Grants Manager to keep Blackbaud records and database updated.
  • In consultation with Grants Management team, reply in a timely manner to inquiries received in the department’s general email inbox, including from grant applicants and grantees.
  • Correspond and otherwise coordinate with grantees, particularly to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Provide ongoing suggestions for improvements to grant systems to maintain efficiencies, adapting to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Encourage FSFW staff to make use of the database’s capabilities and data.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Education and Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with Blackbaud grantmaking database or one of its predecessors (GIFTS, GIFTS Alta, GIFTS Online), at Grant Administrator level for minimum of one year, including the ability to work with batches of records, and develop templates and reports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the requirements of a grantmaking organization.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to support end-users both internally and with external applicants and grantees.

Additional Information

This position is a hybrid position, which will work remotely and at the Foundation’s New York City office. The Foundation will only consider candidates who live within the NYC metro area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut).

The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location and will be in the range of $80,000 – $85,000.
